Centre of Early Intervention "VOINICEL"is a non governmental, public, non profit, non political organization, built on the free will of associated members
The major goals:
- Prevention of the institutionalization of children with special needs
- Support of the children with special needs in harmonious development of his/her own individual potential
- Promotion of social inclusion of family and child with disabilities
The Centre of Early Intervention "Voinicel" was created in 2003 by the support of AHEAD-Moldova from Norway. In 2004, with the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Norway, was bought a building for Centre. Nowadays "Voinicel" is offering early intervention services for around 130 children with disabilities and their families. During last 7 years of activities the numbers of beneficiary children outrun 1000.
The beneficiaries:
The children from 0-4 years old with:
- psycho-, neural-, motor developmental delay
- cerebral palsy
- genetic conditions (sm Prader-Willi, sm Down, sm Williams, sm X-fragil)
- muscular diseases
- failure-to-thrive, prematurity etc.
- multiple congenital malformations
"Voinicel" intervention team is an interdisciplinary team. The main specialists are - pediatrician, child neurologist, physical therapist, nutritionist, speech therapist, social assistant, psychologist and occupational therapist.
Activities:
- Interdisciplinary developmental assessment of the child by standardized diagnostic tests copilului (PEDI, GMFM, GMFCS, DAYC, DAYC, BSID-II) in order to establish intervention goals and plans
- Elaboration of individualized family service plan
- Promotion of children's functional performances, using individual courses of physical, speech and occupational therapies.
- Reframe family's understanding of early intervention strategies by informational support and sharing experience trough trainings, round tables discussions, seminars, etc.
- Publishing the informational leaflets, booklets and books which reflects different problems of the children with special needs and some ways of management
- Free access to the special library in the Center for the parents, medical personnel, etc.
- Promotion of social support and integration for families with children with special needs, etc.
